Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure Quality Product
- Double check work orders to make sure all parts are cut from the correct material.
- Inspect specified percentage on each load for quality.
- Operator is 100% accountable for product in work area.
- Make sure all products are defect free before passing on to next work center.
- Must get supervisor or lead person to QC load before sending to next work center.
- Knowledge of face grades and capable of inspecting for defects.
- Make sure to keep dust from getting in between parts while stacking on load. Blow off as necessary to prevent scratching.
- Operate Machine Safely
- Check safety devices daily
- Make sure all guards are in place.
- Make sure work area is clean and organized.
- Ensure Machine is Properly Maintained
- Maintain machine, making sure that machine is always in proper working condition.
- Shut down machine 15 minutes early daily to clean machine and area assigned by supervisor.
- Do PM (Preventive Maintenance) as needed. I.E. daily or weekly, whatever PM schedule calls for.
- Perform Duties on Schedule & Efficiently
- Run parts in order of importance.
- Must be able to lift between 50-100 lbs constantly for an 8-10hr work day.
- Make sure sheets are optimized to ensure that the maximum amount of parts have been cut out of that sheet.
- Must produce acceptable quantities meeting the highest quality standards in a given time frame.
- Let material mover know what loads to move in next before current load is finished. Should material mover not be available, use off bearer to have next load ready to run.
- Do other jobs as assigned by supervisor.
- Operate as a Team Player
- Work as part of a team to continuously improve our quality and production.
- Machine Setup
- Prepare & setup machine systems for operation.
- Check operation systems after each shutdown.
- Setup machine for application according to work order/ spec sheet.
Knowledge / Experience / Skills:
High school diploma or GED.
