Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and safety.
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to insure total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Implement cost effective controls for operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Set and maintain high performance standards (of him/herself and of all personnel in the organization).
- Lead a Continuous Improvement culture in both philosophy and practice.
- Effectively enforce DARRAN’s employee discipline policy, providing proper documentation and incorporating HR as needed.
- Establish and execute the appropriate safety plans and programs to ensure the safety of all DARRAN employees.
- Control and minimize labor overtime.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives.
- Work with Maintenance Manager to implement and maintain preventative maintenance measures (adding to and taking away from existing program as needed).
- Incorporate shop floor organization and plant housekeeping to build a culture of structure and cleanliness.
- Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors.
- Manage plant personnel – to include but not limited to - hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, training coordination, oversight of time and attendance, efficiency, and yearly reviews.

- Bachelor's degree in related field and/or five years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure with managing in a progressive furniture manufacturing environment, office furniture preferred.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
- Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required (Continuous Improvement).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Experience with AutoCad/Solidworks a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong qualities of adaptability, dependability and professionalism required.
- Strong people management and technical skills.
