We are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager. DARRAN’s management positions are vital to the company’s success.  This position will direct and manage all warehouse operations with overall responsibilities for on time shipment and scheduling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrive 30 minutes before shift start up to insure plant is ready for daily production.
  • Direct supervisor over staff of 6.
  • Daily monitoring of plant to insure proper production flow is maintained.
  • Insure proper staffing needs are maintained to meet current capacity requirements and insure goals are met to uphold plant labor percentage.
  • Continuously monitor plant quality issues and resolve, with the assistance of engineering, through training and documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain acceptable on time shipment percentages.
  • Coordinate with Sales/Service Department to meet customer expectations for delivery and rectify any problems such as shortages and/or damages. Must make sure deliveries are met by contract or critical delivery date.
  • Negotiate with carries for outbound contract rates and special load pricing.
  • Plan and oversee most efficient load floor planning to maximize cube use.
  • Monitor carrier performance and develop scoring schedules and reporting. Issues weekly reports on freight, savings vs. standard cost rates.
  • Coordinate with warranty and carrier all freight damage claims to resolution.
  • Management of client inventory storage and picker system.
  • Verify accuracy and weights for each order during load out.
  • Coordinate with seating manager, Quality Audits on claims.
  • Organize and report monthly Stock Reports for furniture “For Sale”.
  • Fully inspect all fabric before sending to OEM vendors.
  • Receive, handle log and ship fabrics to OEM vendors.
  • Manage raw material and small parts at the warehouse.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, all local pick- up scheduling, also pick -ups from OEM (Precedent).
  • Confirm correctness of freight bills before turning into accounting.
  • Maintain department organization, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Oversee proper maintenance and inspections of all trucks and assigned equipment.
  • Coordinate with procurement to negotiate best inbound rates and integration of back haul pickups.
  • Strive for continuous improvement.
  • Provide cross training of entire plant workforce to insure all positions are filled with skilled personnel and back up on all positions is available.
  • Motivate total plant work force to insure positive morale and good work habits.
  • Manage all supervisors and lead persons assigned to plant to insure all departments are managed correctly, policies and procedures are followed and continuous improvements is the focus of every department. Develop, set up, monitor and enforce operating procedures for each department.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the facility and equipment, to insure everything is in good safe working order.
  • Analyze workloads and move personnel to bottleneck to insure the best possible production flow.
  • Monitor and insure veneer materials are properly covered and protected from damage.
  • Coordinate with purchasing to better identify, control and use inventoried materials and supplies.
  • Maintain active and accurate lists of discontinued materials and quantities.
  • Hold daily production meetings to go over previous day’s results and current day’s production goals.
  • Hold a monthly plant meeting to go over previous month’s results and accomplishments. Take this opportunity to welcome new employees, make announcements, go over vacation schedules, etc.

  • Enforce all compliance and safety programs.
